Our Story
Glen and Michelle and their two sons, Austin and Dylon, live between Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House.
Horses were Michelle's iniitial interest and she worked in the industry for eight years. After deciding on a
career in Animal Health and Medicine, she moved to Lethbridge and attended college there, followed by
completion of the Animal Health Technology program at Fairview College. She has since been employed
by the Sylvan Lake Veterinary Clinic for the past 16 years.
Glen worked as a Hunting Guide and Farmer the first few years after High School. He then attended
Olds College where he completed a Diploma of Farrier Science. He also worked in the Oil Patch which
then led to his current job as a Field Operator for NAL Resources.
Michelle's first interest in goats was in 1995 when she was employed by a Goat breeder. He
imported Boer Meat Goats from South Africa and also had several dairy nannies implanted with
Boer embryos. In 2012 Glen and Michelle travelled to Manitoba to purchase their first Boer goat
herd, consisting of 68 head of purebred, percentage and commercial goats. Many have joined the initial herd and they are running 230 head.
In 2013 they decided to add cattle to their farm. They purchased 35 head of Red AngusX cows and, in 2014, added another 35 head of purebred Black Angus cows.
The children, Austin and Dylon, are both very involved on the farm and are growing a small
herd of their own cows and goats. They are both evolved in beef 4H, play hockey and enjoy riding their dirt bikes.
